Let's hope not!!
Well, we're a week open and so far .. everything is going well!
We're all enjoying finally getting out of the house and into the good weather. Members are ...
booking for every usage of the courts
avoiding clustering inside the gates
using sanitizer
keeping within the new guidelines
Social distancing on the court seems to be working!
Please keep up the good efforts!
All this means that when the city relaxes restrictions keeping us from opening further, we'll be in a good position to move quickly. High on the list for all of us: allowing multi-family doubles play and opening our washrooms. We're hoping to hear these will be allowed in Phase 2 of Hamilton's recreation re-opening. What we all can't forget, is that symptoms generally develop 10 days after exposure. So please stay aware of you and your family's situation!
The not so good news is that cases in the province have risen again and yesterday the state of emergency was extended to June 30. For us in Hamilton, cases are still rising and 65% of cases are people between the ages of 20 and 64.
If you're feeling the rust after such a long layoff, why not let Peter help you brush off that rust and fine tune those shots. Since we can't run the junior academy training, he has a lot more time to help you! Some members are using Peter's services to learn a whole new swing :-)
In case you're wondering, at this time 345 others have joined you in starting or renewing membership this year.
Thank you for continuing to be part of this community of tennis!
More updates to follow ... Stay safe - stay apart.
